I knew at an early age that medicine was the career for me as I watched my mother in her medical practice. When I was older I had the opportunity to spend time with my pediatrician in her office. Through observing her, I was inspired by the team approach she used to develop lasting relationships with her patients and to make a difference in their lives. I believe taking care of a child’s health should involve teamwork. Close interaction and communication between children, their parents, and the health care provider is essential, and I enjoy being part of this worthy team.
I attended the University of Kansas for my undergraduate and medical school education. I completed my pediatric residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter , traveling and reading.
