Born and raised in Maryville, Missouri (Go Northwest Bearcats!), Kansas City has been my home now for more than 20 years. I attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine for my undergraduate and medical degrees and am a board certified pediatrician. Prior to joining Shawnee Mission Pediatrics, I spent more than 10 years at Children’s Mercy Hospital where I grew and developed as a physician through my residency, as Chief Resident and eventually as a pediatric hospitalist.

My husband and I are blessed with a beautiful little girl and a handsome little boy and everyday I learn something new from them.  For me, being a doctor didn’t make me a better mother, being a mother made me a better doctor.

I love helping children which is why I love my job.  Everyday I get to help little (and big) patients grow up happy and healthy.  As a mother I understand the fears and concerns that every parent has and I want them to know that they aren’t alone and that I’m here to help them along the way.  It’s an honor to be a part of my patient’s families and more importantly its an honor to be trusted with their most prized possessions: their children.
